“The Intervention module streamlines the referral process by connecting students in need to the right support services. The module allows educators to quickly assign services, track the fidelity, frequency, and efficacy of those efforts, and easily review and communicate progress or adjustment needs with stakeholders.” (Source)
With the end of the school year drawing close, several of the large districts who use BrightBytes’ Intervention module came to us with a key need for functionality to effectively capture the closing of interventions with their students. After working to identify and define the needed data points with the clients -- outcome and exit date -- the product manager worked with me to discuss the impact on the Intervention module’s architecture and experience. I narrowed in the scope to the new and edit flows and the intervention report, keeping in sight the desired short delivery date for the client. Since the proposal I had in mind was relatively small, I turned around a set of high-fidelity wireframes with development annotations in a few days, handing off the designs for development to begin early. Our clients were fully satisfied with the results, and school and district administrators began utilizing the new metrics successfully right away, so they could sum up their delivery and success of services to students who underwent an intervention plan that school year.
